Junsik Kim

I am Junsik Kim, Ph.D. Candidate in Metropolitan Planning, Policy, and Design. I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. I obtained a bachelor’s and master’s in landscape architecture from Kyungpook National University and Seoul National University, South Korea. Following graduation, I worked as a researcher at SNU Research Institute of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the National Institute of Biological Resources (NIBR) under South Korea’s Ministry of Environment. At the University of Utah, I am working in the Metropolitan Research Center with Dr. Reid Ewing, a distinguished professor of the City and Metropolitan Planning Department. I am interested in analyzing environmental justice, climate justice, gentrification, urban morphology, and public health. I am currently focusing on environmental and climate gentrification research.
